This year, we are again providing a VCE Psychology Teacher PD focusing on preparing students for the Units 3&4 Psychology exam.

| 1:35pm Exam Specs and General Exam Advice – Andy Keating Andy will review the VCAA Exam Specifications to ensure teachers know what to expect in the exam, as well as provide exam advice that all students should be aware of, including: – Use of abbreviations – Maximising reading and writing time – Pacing the exam – How to ensure that all responses are scanned and read by exam markers – The importance of command terms – What to do when you don’t know how to answer a question. |
| 2:00pm VCAA Exam Analysis – Ken Ong Ken will review the VCAA 2024, 2023 and Sample Exam, and highlight how students can use these questions to help them prepare for the exam this year, including the best time to complete these questions in the lead up to the exam. |

| 2:35pm Exam Revision Activities – Andy Keating Andy will provide ideas and samples of a range of ways that you can engage your class during the tricky exam revision period. Including: – Tarsias – Mind maps – Jeopardy – Lotus diagrams – Key exam skills building activities and more! |
| 3:00pm Extended Response Question Strategies – Ken Ong Ken will provide his tips and advice for assisting students to maximise their performance in the extended response question, including analysis of the question and any stimulus provided, in addition to how to best structure a response. |
| 3:25pm Optional Q and A session – Ken and Andy Ken and Andy will be available at the end of the sessions to chat with any interested teachers, and they will do their best to answer any questions. |
Speakers
Ken Ong & Andrew Keating
Ken and Andy manage Psyched, and between them, have published several textbooks, workbooks, practice exams, online learning videos, and subject notes for VCE Psychology, Biology, and Health & Human Development. Andy has held a Leading Teacher position for Curriculum Innovation, and been the VCE Manager at Ruyton Girls’ School. Ken has held VCE Coordinator, Senior Year Level Coordinator, and Staff Professional Learning Leading Teacher positions at Melbourne High School where he has been a teacher since 2014.
